How the R.A.P.I.D. assessment works:
Initial Questionnaire: We begin by having your engineering team fill out a detailed questionnaire covering the state of production and key operational responsibilities such as monitoring, incident response, release management, postmortem processes, and more. This step allows us to gather a baseline understanding of your current practices and identify areas that may need attention. It also gives your team an opportunity to learn about and document their systems!
Team Interview: Next, we schedule a one-hour interview with your engineering team. During this meeting, we discuss the questionnaire responses in detail to ensure we have full understanding and context. This dialogue helps us understand business and team-specific aspects of your operations as well as any known challenges. We also interview individuals as-needed to go in-depth on specific topics.
Assessment and Roadmap Creation: After the interview, we compare your current operational posture against real-world best practices. We then produce a comprehensive assessment report that highlights your strengths, identifies critical gaps, and provides a clear, actionable roadmap for improvement. This roadmap is tailored to your specific needs, ensuring that the recommended actions are practical, relevant, and ready to be copy/pasted into your team’s issue queue.
Results Presentation: One week after our initial interview, we meet again to discuss the findings. During this session, we walk you through the assessment results, discuss the recommended roadmap in detail, and answer any questions you might have. Our goal is to ensure that you leave with a clear picture of next steps feeling confident and eager to make progress.
